Stenhuggarebyn, the stonemason’s village

This is our newest area with 5 cabins. They were built in 2018 and, as you can guess, the theme is stone. We were inspired by the region’s history when we designed these cabins. There used to be a quarry in Haverdal. You can read more about it further down.

These cabins are designed to house six people. Two bedrooms with 2 beds each, plus room for two in the sofa bed. The cabins are equipped with a shower and a toilet. Add to that a living room and a small kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with tableware for six, has a microwave oven, a coffeemaker, an electric kettle and a television set with a digital subscription card slot (so you can bring your favourite TV channels with you). The cabins also have a furnished veranda and a grill.

Pillows and blankets for six people.

You need to bring your own bedsheets or you can rent them at the reception desk.
You are responsible for cleaning the cabin when you leave, or you can purchase this service separately.

The history of the stonemason’s village, also known as the stone village.

Our stonemason theme was inspired by Haverdal’s history. Skallen is an old quarry where stone, mostly cobblestones, was broken and shipped all over the world, although mostly to Germany. The quarry closed in the 1930s. These operations attracted a lot of stonemasons to the village from Skåne and Blekinge in the south of Sweden. Some of these people also chose to live right where the campground is now located.
